Gary has returned to photography as an art form.  He got his first digital camera in 2003 and after several years and several cameras, finally got his first “big camera” a Canon 7D dSLR in the spring of 2011.   He joined the Delaware Photographic Society in the fall of 2011 and began entering the monthly competitions.  The first year he was in Class B, but by the end of that competition year, his images were successful enough to be promoted to Class A for the 2012-2013 competition year.  Once again, he was promoted after one year to the Salon Class where he now has to compete with the most experienced photographers in the club.

Joining the Photographic Society of America (PSA) in 2012, he has competed in international salons.  A number of photographs have been accepted in national and  international salons.  He has achieved the PSA distinction of QPSA and in 2022 he was awarded the Artist distinction by the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique, You can see some of his images at his website http://www.garywalterphotography.smugmug.com

He has also been an instructor for the club sponsored training classes.   “All You Ever Wanted to Know About Digital Photography, But Were Afraid to Ask” is a class for beginning digital photographers.  Another class on using the Adobe Photoshop Elements class has been taught for the past 4 years.
